A rare Jeff Reardon card

Why rare? It shows the all-star closer with no beard. Until 1999, the Cincinnati Reds had a no-facial hair policy. (The Yankees still have a no beards policy, though they allow mustaches.)

I wonder how Reardon's wife felt when he lost the beard he had for over a decade at least. It would be funny if she found him less attractive without the beard. Maybe that's why he didn't last long with the Reds.
