One one block of Toronto's Richmond Street there are two huge ghost signs standing across the street from each other.
Gelber Bros. was a textile business opened in 1910. At some point mid-20th century the business disbanded, but the sign lived on. It was starting to fade when it was restored to it's current return to glory in 2020.
The Tip Top Tailors sign directly across the street is still in it's natural state. In fact you can see remnants of two different signs for the business. Tip Top was founded in 1909 and remains a major clothing chain across Canada. It's hard to see here, but at the bottom of the Tip Top sign, you can see that the signmaker left their own logo - Dominion Signs. It was hard to find much about this business, especially as there were several with that name, but it looks like there was one operating at least as early as 1936.
