Picked up some fun cards today at Al's table.
Start off with some parallels. Two very similar Mariner cards, pure coincidence.
Some great commemoratives of vintage Yankees.I made sure to grab these two, I have a feeling his cards are going to be hard to get for quite a while. Some more shiny cards! These don't fit into any other category but are just nice cards, especially that throwback jersey.

Love the Beltran card on him in the Kansas City Monarchs uniform. For many years the Royals held a “Salute to the Negro League” night where the players and coaches would wear Monarch uniforms and the visiting team would wear a uniform from their cities Negro League team. The uniforms would then be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Negro League Hall of Fame, located in KC. I’ve never heard why, but MLB now refuses to let them wear the uniforms. They are only allowed to wear replica hats. (Last year and this year.) The hats are auctioned off, but obviously raise A LOT less money than full uniforms. Yet another example of MLB showing how they have no clue, or interest, in anything other than making money for the Owners.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that a street vendor specializes in cards. I'm sure you've mentioned this before, but does he just set up randomly on the street? Or is he part of a street fair or something?
