Ryan Schimpf on his first major league card

Infielder Ryan Schimpf played for the Padres and Angels from 2016 to 2018. His best season was 2016, when he hit .217 with 20 HR and 51 RBI for the Padres. Now a Licensed Mortgage Advisor at Angel Oak Home Loans in Covington, LA, he kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.

"My first card in SD is not the way to swing a bat!"
Thanks!

  1. He played in my local summer collegiate league (Shenandoah Valley Baseball League) back in 2008. I always try to follow guys from that league that made it to the majors.

  2. Ryan crossed paths with me multiple times when he was in Double-A New Hampshire. Nice guy, I was glad he made the majors. It's fun following the career arc of guys like that.
