1981 Topps Record Breaker: Pete Rose

The front: What a fantastic card. Dynamic action photo with two all-time greats (Mike Schmidt clearly visible on deck). Like most NL action photos this is Shea Stadium. This could be any of three games played on the weekend of August 16-17, 1980. Rose went 5-for-14 with a double and four runs scored in those three games, all won by Philadelphia.

The back: Most consecutive seasons with 600 at-bats. That’s a record that might never be broken, and certainly will never be cared about. Sounds like an excuse to fill out the record-breaker subset and/or get another Rose card in the set.
