Hobbies are golf and basketball: Hamilton was an avid
golfer. He golfed every week with former Brewers teammate Pat Listach.
Favorite sports announcers are Bob Uecker and Vin Scully: As
an announcer Hamilton occasionally filled in for Uecker on Brewers broadcasts.
Favorite player as a kid was Willie Mays: As a Giant
Hamilton got outfield tips from Willie Mays.
Most prized possession is his Porsche 911 Turbo: Porsche has
been making the 911 for over 50 years.
Might have been a radio announcer if he hadn’t been an
athlete: Hamilton did do radio work for the Brewers.
Post playing career: Hamilton did both radio and TV
broadcasting before he was killed in a murder-suicide in 2015.
RIP Hambone. He was always one of my favorites.
