Mark Sweeney on baseball cards

Mark Sweeney played fourteen years in the major leagues for the Cardinals, Padres, Reds, Brewers, Rockies, Giants and Dodgers. He is the all-time leader in pinch-RBI with 102 and is second all-time with 175 pinch hits. Now a studio analyst for the Padres, he kindly answered my questions about baseball cards.

"My favorite card is my first rookie card for the Cardinals! What a thrill to put on a MLB uniform, one with that rich tradition. It was special. I don't collect cards but every one I got in the mail that said "Mike" Sweeney I kept on my locker."

Thanks!
