Player Profile: Mike Anderson

I have three cards of Mike Anderson. This one is from 1980 Topps.

Playing career: Mike Anderson was a backup outfielder for the Phillies, Cardinals, and Orioles from 1971 to 1979. The best description comes from his manager on the Phillies, Danny Ozark: “His limitations are limitless.”

Where he is now: Anyone know where Mike Anderson is now?

My memories: Only know him from his baseball card.

Interesting stories: Brother Kent Anderson played for the Angels in 1989 and 1990.

Google Autocomplete results: He is first when you type Mike Ande, ahead of Mike Anderson Cancer, referring to the author of Healing Cancer from Inside Out. When you google Mike Anderson the first page does not have any references to the baseball player. Prominent Mike Andersons include the head basketball coach at Arkansas, a seafood restaurant in Baton Rouge, a car dealership in Indiana, and a former Broncos running back.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Rick A. Anderson.
