Player Profile: Joel Adamson

I have one card of Joel Adamson, from 1993 Topps.

Playing career: Joel Adamson made his major league debut with Florida in 1996. Traded to the Brewers in 1997, he had a good rookie season, going 5-3 with a 3.54 ERA. He was then drafted by Arizona in the 1998 expansion draft, but appeared in just five games with the Diamondbacks before a rotator cuff injury that ultimately ended his career.

My memories: I remember him with Milwaukee, thought he would be pretty good. Unfortunately for him it didn’t work out.

Where he is now: He is a salesman at Kempton’s RV Center in Mesa, AZ and coaches his son’s baseball team, the Ahwatukee Pirates.

Google Autocomplete Results: He is tenth when you type in Joel Ad, after Joel Addison Hayes, a nineteenth-century Colorado banker. Another prominent Joel Adamson is a PhD student in the UNC biology department.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Jim Adduci.
