Player Profile: Jim Brower

I have one card of Jim Brower, from 2005 Topps.

Playing career: Jim Brower pitched nine seasons in the major leagues for the Indians, Reds, Expos, Giants, Braves, Padres, Orioles and Yankees. In 354 games he went 33-32 with a 4.67 ERA. His best season was 2004 with the Giants, when he went 7-7 with a 3.29 ERA in a league-leading 89 games.

Where he is now: He is Minor League Pitching Coordinator for the Chicago Cubs, and also owns Brower Baseball pitching instruction in Eden Prairie, MN.

My memories: I had completely forgotten his brief time with the Yankees in 2007.

Google Autocomplete results: He is first when you type Jim Browe, ahead of Jim Brower Obituary, referring to the recently deceased owner of Brower’s Garr Nursery in Indiana. Another prominent Jim Brower is a swimming coach in Ohio.

Coming up next: The next profile will be Adam Brown.
