The card, in brief: Morton looks very serious, maybe even angry, in this photo.
The player, in brief: Morton was the 1970 NL Rookie of the Year, going 18-11 with a 3.60 ERA. Throughout the early- and mid-1970s, he was a solid but unspectacular starter for the Expos and Braves. In 255 games he went 87-92 with a 3.73 ERA.
Post-career, in brief: After his career, he was a pitching coach at the University of Tulsa. He died at the age of 39 in 1983, of a heart attack.
My collection: I have nine of his cards, from 1970 to 1977. I would be interested in trading for 1971 Topps #515.
Looks like Morton was pretty good in 1975, but the team was terrible. Maybe that's why he's mad.
