Too ugly for a sweater

Peter at Baseball Every Night is having an Ugly Sweater contest - post a picture of your ugliest card and you are entered. I immediately thought of this card from the 1998 Sports Illustrated set. The illustration was by "artist" T.S. O'Connell, whose day job, editor of Sports Collectors Digest, explains how he was able to get this monstrosity through.
Needless to say, T.S. needs to learn when to stop adding detail to the face. There are more examples of his "artwork" online. To be fair, most of them are passible illustrations, but there are still others that are downright (unintentionally) comical, like Camouflage Face Gary Carter:

  1. Dude. This is awful. Ghastly! It's like Brooks Robinson is the ugly lovechild of Freddy Kruger and that nasty tan old woman from There's Something About Mary! Egad. Horrible!
