I noticed this "sign behind a sign" at 17th Street Food Market on 7th Avenue. Appears to say "Adamici". I found one reference on the internet - an expired ebay listing - that mentioned a handbag bought at Adamici Shoe on 17th street in 1994.
Is this somewhere in the location of the original Barneys mens clothing if so it was one of the Adamici shoe stores located in manhattan there were several they eere afiliated with Bostonian shoe If my memory is correct it was directly across from Barneys on 7th I bought 2 pairs of shoes from there back in the early 80s
