Latest vintage star pickups

I'm getting into a good routine with the weekly lower-end vintage Greg Morris auctions, getting a few cheaper oddballs and decent stars at a reasonable cost. I'm down to one card (Clemente) for the '68 Topps Game set. My favorite here is the '62 Killebrew. The MLB logo was supposedly based on Killebrew's batting stance, and this might be the best example of it on one of his cards.

I did goof on one card though. Somehow I forgot I had this one already. The one I had is in better shape, happy to trade to someone who needs it. I imagine Johnny needs several copies of this card, but he might have all those copies already.

Some other recent pickups, pretty much all in the $3-6 dollar range.

'70 Topps Super Johnny Bench.

'63 Fleer Don Drysdale.
Drysdale again with Koufax, Williams and O'Toole.
I had just picked up an OJ card, but found a very reasonably priced '74 with no bids, and won with the minimum.
'69 Mays - really starting to get close on this set.
Koufax again, this time on a stamp.
'54 Duke Snider.
Finally, a little '64 lot. I needed Kubek and Robinson, so now I have a '64 Whitey Ford to trade. Still have that trimmed '56 Ford from the last post available too.

  1. Nifty Killebrew. Never saw/noticed that Whitey Ford "p-Coach" designation.

  4. Dang. The Dodgers had the top 3 strikeout leaders in their starting rotation in 1961? That's super impressive.

  5. That O.J. is one of the two cards that I have of his. Sandy looks like he's squinting to see himself on the stamp :)
