Medium and small transactions roundup

Lots of fun PWEs arriving lately.

Canadian OBCer Andrew Goguen surprised me with a nice PWE, with three '61 Topps needs, three mid-70s OPCs, and three set needs from 1990 Leaf (yes, most of the OBC folks collect modern cards too).

Lots of TCDB envelopes came in this week. Trouttrader sent a real nice vintage group to me, highlighted by the surprisingly hard-to-get Bill Buckner RC. Lots of Tigers in the '61s; I'm partial to the Harry Chiti card in particular.

Night Owl posted that D.B. Cooper card the other day, and I was reminded of how interesting it was. Then the next day I got a trade proposal for that card from MMehler30! He sent that plus a fun Mothers Cookies oddball.

BobbyL sent two PWEs stuffed with great cards from the 1998 Metal set. Lots of great backgrounds here. My favorite is Jeff Abbott at Buckingham Fountain in Chicago.

Jtennyson99 finished off my 2022 Topps set with you-know-who. I thought that card would elude me for a long time, so I was surprised to see it in a quite modest trade proposal lumped in with some nice '57s. Then later that day I heard the news and figured out why Wander was suddenly available. Oh well, a card is a card, and those 57's sure are great.

 

 It's always a thrill to get vintage in a trade, but these days it's rare to get cards from a set that I collected as a kid but still haven't finished. The '89 Topps sticker backs sent by plevin are just as appreciated as those fine mid-60s cards.

 

There's not a whole lot that these two cards have in common other than they came in a nice trade with griffey423.

 Finally, a little eBay purchase that was cheap, well under a dollar for 11 cards. Here are nine of them. I am very apathetic to recent cards but I will always appreciate shiny cards. All of these are shiny except for Hank Aaron, who is on a very flimsy Topps card of some kind that looks more like a custom than many customs. Still, no such thing as a bad Hank Aaron card.

These were the two best cards in the package. Shiny foil card of one of the Yankees' exciting young players who have energized the team in the past week, and a numbered card of a Yankees Hall of Famer. Even without the logo it's a great photo.
