Trade with Night Owl

Two Thursdays ago I mailed out four card envelopes, and none seem to have arrived yet. Hopefully they all make it. Three of the four were bloggers, at least, including Night Owl. The cards he sent were delivered to me today.

Now that Night Owl is on TCDB I went through his tradelist there and found some interesting looking cards. I've been getting more and more into card backgrounds, so these modern cards of vintage players stood out to me, especially that fantastic Charles Dressen card with the classic car in the background.

Two cards of modern players with lots of fun things happening in the background, as well as a giant bat!
When I first came across this card, I was wondering who Max Ward was. This card was from 1987 and at the time I knew all the Yankee prospects. Then I realized that this was Turner Max Ward. As far as I can tell, the only time he was referred to as "Max Ward" was his first two ProCards cards. I have lots of cards of Turner Ward from his big league career, but this is my first Yankee card of him (the Yankees traded him to Cleveland when he was still a minor leaguer). Fun oddball, at least sort of an error card.

  1. I PC Turner Ward (maybe the only person out there, lol). His 1987 (Ft Lauderdale) and 1988 (Columbus) Procards list him as "Max Ward". You have the 1988 card!

  2. Not knowing if someone got something you sent is one of my biggest annoyances. It's one of the reasons why I always send a quick email of acknowledgment (and thanks) to somebody when they send me something.
