Hollywood bit players on baseball cards: Part 9

Who is this actor, playing Bobo, the host of the dance in the 1967 teen comedy C'Mon, Let's Live a Little?

In 1962, Angels rookie Bo Belinsky took the baseball world by storm, pitching a no-hitter to run his record to 4-0. Hollywood came calling to the handsome young star, and he spent more time partying than pitching, winning just 18 games after 1962. He never made it big in acting either, with baseball-related appearances on The Lloyd Bridges Show and 77 Sunset Strip, and this minor teen movie. Belinsky was best known for the women he dated, including Ann-Margret, Tina Louise and Connie Stevens. He was engaged to Mamie Van Doren and married and was divorced from a former Playmate of the Year and the heiress to the Weyerhaeuser fortune. I have four of his Topps cards.

  1. Well I learned something new today (and very interesting, too). I have that '69 Topps of Bo and never knew about his off-field life. Great post!

  2. All of this is news to me. I just associate him with boxes of bargain vintage at shows, as he's one of those guys I always use to see in them.
