For 1979, there was one team set, and a few other miscellaneous cards, mostly of established major leaguers.
The complete set was the Mets AAA team, the Tidewater Tides.
Mookie Wilson with a great background, one of several cards to prominently feature the Muench Kreuzer Candle factory behind the outfield wall. (Which means this photo was taken in Syracuse.)
This looks like the right Mike Scott!
Vertical card of Jesse Orosco, recently acquired from the Minnesota Twins.
Some other Mets, these were three from the Jackson Mets set. All went on to long big league careers, though "Jodie" Davis never played for the Mets.
Two 1979 Ogden A's, both of whom went on to significant big league careers.
Great cards. ... If you end of with dupes of any of the '70s minor league cards you know where to send them.
ReplyDeleteBuck Showalter sure seems to have had a lot of minor league cards made of him.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize Willie McGee had any cards from his time in the Yankees org.. very cool. Taking a quick look, doesn't seem to be a cheap card (~$20), but I might need to keep an eye out.
