The front: Great, dynamic shot of The Wizard bursting out of the batters box at Shea Stadium. In four day games at Shea in 1980, Ozzie had two hits, both doubles, in 17 at bats.
The back: Smith finished behind Bob Horner in the Rookie of the Year voting.
The player: He is considered one of the greatest defensive shortstops of all time. He won 13 Gold Gloves in his 19 year career with the Padres and Cardinals. He was a fine hitter as well, with 2,460 lifetime hits.
The man: After his career Smith has been involved in a variety of business ventures, in fields including sports medicine, media, restaurants and youth coaching.
My collection: I have 176 of his cards, from 1979 to 1997. I would be interested in trading for 1986 Fleer Mini #46.

I always liked the look of this card. It looks like he didn't hit very well at Shea over the course of his entire career.
