I have four cards of Yhency Brazoban. This one is from 2006 Upper Deck.
Playing career: Yhency Brazoban made his debut with the
Dodgers in 2004 and was excellent, going 6-2 with a 2.48 ERA. The next year he
was the team’s closer, saving 21 games, albeit with 10 losses and a 5.33 ERA.
Injuries limited him to just 17 more games in the majors after that.
Where he is now: In 2014 he pitched in one game for the Atlantic
League’s Bridgeport Bluefish and in five games for the American Association’s
Grand Prairie AirHogs.
My memories: The Yankees traded Brazoban to the Dodgers in
the Kevin Brown deal. With Brazoban’s initial success with the Dodgers and
Brown’s lousy performance with the Yankees, it seemed like the Yankees lost
that trade at the time.
Google Autocomplete results: He is fourth when you type
Yhen, between Then, a common word, and Then Vs. Than, a common grammar issue. There
do not appear to be any other prominent Yhency Brazobans.
Coming up next: The next profile will be Scott Bream.
