Baseball card stories from Evan Carter

Outfielder Evan Carter came up with the Rangers last September and made an immediate impact, hitting .306 with 5 HR and 12 RBI in 23 games. He kept up the hot hitting in the postseason, hitting .300 with 1 HR and 6 RBI, and set a major league record with 9 doubles in a postseason. This season he has been slowed by a back injury that currently has him on the injured list, but he does have 5 HR and 15 RBI in 45 games. He kindly took the time to reply to my questions about baseball cards.

"This is the world series Rookie Auto 1/1. It's my favorite card of myself. I was able to meet up with one of our fans who had the card and we got the deal done.

Being able to win the world series, being able to do it with people I look up to and depend on like Corey Seager, tt is a dream come true. Still feels like a dream😂

This is my favorite card that isn't mine. I was able to get it from a memorabilia project with Ken Goldin.

Mike Yastrzemski of the San Francisco Giants told me about how his father kept cards of each player he went against and he tried to get them autographed. That's what got him riled up to be a player just like his dad and his granddad. Passing down this great memories to your offspring in the form of memorabilia is the kind of bond I want to have with my kids. That's why I got the Carl Yastrzemski card. Him passing down his memories down to his offspring in form of cards is what made them play. His grandson told me this story."

Thanks! Here is a card of him from my collection.

  1. I didn't realize he was a collector! Very cool post, and a great Yaz auto!

  2. He's a good kid. He signed at the Dallas Card Show this summer and then went around and bought a couple of cards from tables.

  4. Evan Carter is a better human being than he is a baseball player. I'm am thrilled that he's a Texas Ranger!
