Last time Topps beat Hostess, 5-4. Who will win this time?
Hostess shows Paul Blair at spring training, with a nice view of the stadium, and a couple of on-field civilians behind him. Topps goes for a tighter focus on Blair himself. The background might be Memorial Stadium or spring training, I'm not sure.
Paul "Motormouth" Blair was a speedy center fielder with some pop in his bat. A two-time All Star and eight-time Gold Glove winner, Blair was a key member of the great Orioles teams of the 1970s. Baltimore traded Blair to the Yankees just in time for Blair to pick up a couple more World Series rings as a key bench player on the champion Yankee teams of 1977 and 1978. After his career he spent time as a minor league and college coach and manager. He died of a heart attack in 2013.
Hostess wins this round. Never cared for side views of players.
ReplyDeletePretty much what Matt said. The Hostess is a really nice picture of him, actually. The Topps isn't bad, but it's not as good.
