I recently sent Johnny's Trading Spot a large package with about 400 or so modern cards in it. I had no idea what I was getting back so I was surprised to see such a small package in return. "It must be something real good," I thought. No worries, it was. 13 vintage cards, all but one a hall-of-famer.
1950s and 1960s. Four early 60s Fleer cards. Yankee greats Herb Pennock and Tonly Lazzeri in unfamiliar uniforms (as well as Cubs legend Hack Wilson). Jackie Jensen is the only non-HOFer, but a '58 All Star is very cool.
Any vintage Nolan Ryan card is a big deal. The '71 Torre is my favorite, you can really see all the individual fans in the background. I'll do a post on it someday . . .
Congrats, ya done good here! Very nice...
ReplyDeleteWow. I'll take 13 vintage beauties like those over 400 modern cards any day. Nice work there, Bo.
ReplyDeleteI added the Ryan last minute, It's the biggest of the lot. I figured you'd make it up next go round. (in case you were wondering why the new mailer was cut open and taped back).
ReplyDeleteVery nice baker's dozen here. I'm partial to the Jensen and Yaz cards, but the 71 Torre is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThere are a number of 71's where you can see individual stadium goers, but the Torre is one of the better one's.
ReplyDeleteAlthough Ryan might be the big ticket item in this lot... I agree that the 71T Torre is the coolest card. Looking forward to that post.
