but it’s the first thing I thought of.

northern California Jefferies was a Dodger fan.
Might have been a carpenter if he hadn’t been an athlete:
Jefferies did not go into carpentry after his baseball career.
Pet peeve is lying: He must have hated those dysfunctional
Mets teams.
