I have seven cards of Jim Anderson. This one is from 1981 Fleer.
Playing Career: Jim Anderson was a utility infielder for the Angels, Mariners and Rangers from 1978 and 1984. A detailed description of his career can be found at the 1980 Topps blog.
Interesting stories: In the Angels 1979 AL West clinching celebration, Anderson poured champagne over the head of former President Richard Nixon.
Where he is now: A member of the Angels Speakers Bureau, his bio says that he “is helping to lead the expansion of a global company participating and capitalizing on the deregulation of public utilities and telecommunications.”
My memories: He is from before my time; only know him from his baseball card.
Google Autocomplete Results: Jim Anderson Baseball is tenth when you type Jim Ander, after Jim Anderson Stained Glass, a Boston-area business. When you google Jim Anderson, you don’t get any references to the baseball player on the first page. The first entry is for Jim Anderson Sound, a recording engineer who has worked for the Muppets. Other Jim Andersons are a Kansas Congressman aligned with the Tea Party and the running backs coach for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Coming up next: The next profile will be Jimmy Anderson.
