I have 39 Garret Anderson cards. This one is from 2006 Topps Turkey Red.
Playing career: Garret Anderson was one of the best outfielders in the American League during his career with the Angels, which spanned from1994 to 2008. He also played briefly for the Braves in 2009 and the Dodgers in 2010. A three-time All-Star, he led the American League in doubles twice, and finished his career with 2,529 hits and 287 home runs. He is the Angels all-time hits, doubles and RBI leader.
My memories: Anderson absolutely killed the Yankees, both in the regular season and post-season. He set the Angels record with 10 RBI in a game in 2007 against the Yankees. In two post-season series against the Yankees, he hit .324 with 3 HR and 11 RBI in 9 games. In his other 27 postseason games, he hit .218 with 2 HR and 11 RBI. If Anderson was still with the Angels in 2009 the Yankees probably would have lost that series as well.
Where he is now: Anderson retired before the 2011 season. He is now spending time with his family, and started junior college this fall.
Google Autocomplete results: He is first when you type Garret A, before Garrett Argianas, weather forecaster at WVIT in Connecticut. There do not appear to be any other prominent Garret Andersons.
Coming up next: The next profile will be Jason Anderson.
