I have six cards of Mark Acre. This one is from 1995 Fleer Ultra Gold Medallion.
Playing Career: Yet another reliever – Mark Acre started off great, with a 5-1 record and a 3.41 ERA in 1994. He couldn’t sustain that success, however. Three straight seasons of ERA’s over five and a half spelled the end of his American career. He then went to Japan and was more successful over there, with the second best ERA in the league in 1998.
My Memories: I remember him for his unusual name, but nothing about his playing career.
Where he is now: Earned his BS in 2009 from the University of Phoenix. Upon graduating he spent a year working for ADP. Since October of 2010 he has been a Regional Account Executive for Skillsoft.
Google Autocomplete Results: He is first when you type in Mark Acr, before Mark Acree, a forensic investigator in Virginia. There do not appear to be any other prominent Mark Acres.
Coming up next: The next profile will be Glenn Adams.
